The Center for Mechanical Convergence Systems provides integrated solutions based on core technologies in design, analysis, and assessment for future mobility, electronics, defense, equipment commercialization, and energy/environmental sectors. Our focus is on the development of next-generation convergence technologies, leveraging advanced manufacturing and processing technologies, AI-integrated SHM (Structural Health Monitoring), and ESG-oriented processing technologies using high-performance functional materials. By implementing a streamlined One-Step Service model, we support all stages of product development, promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration and efficient problem-solving for complex engineering challenges. Through industrial convergence, we also pursue product commercialization and research diversity by providing total solutions for product development.
Our R&D covers a broad spectrum of industries, including mechanical systems, electronics, telecommunications, acoustics, automotive, shipbuilding, environment, defense, nuclear energy and power plants. In the mobility sector, we offer simulation-based stability solutions for structural, vibrational, thermal, and electromagnetic performance of mobility components and systems, as well as integrated design-to-commercialization platforms. In the field of precision control and processing, we develop and apply piezoelectric technologies for ultra-precise control of micro-scale vibrations at sub-micron resolution, particularly in applications such as astronomical telescopes and Fast Steering Technologies (FST). Additionally, we are expanding the use of acoustic emission and ultrasonic inspection technologies for structural integrity assessment, along with advanced welding processes and material development for smart manufacturing.
Building on accumulated experience and achievements, our center aims to lead the advanced and practical technologies that coexist with the needs of future society and industry. We are committed to developing advanced and applicable technologies in CAE applications, systems engineering-based design, human-centered engineering, smart factory systems, and manufacturing engineering—advancing technologies in close collaboration with industry.
